Donner Ski Ranch was first utilized for skiing in 1937 and is located high atop historic Donner Summit. The area's first rope tow was located at the base of the current lodge. Today, Donner Ski Ranch has 400 skiable acres, 5 double and 1 triple chairlifts. Slope side lodging at the Summit House with 'ski in/ski out' is available. Additional lodging facilities are nearby and in Truckee, approximately 10 miles away from Donner Ski Ranch.

Frankly, I think Donner Ski Ranch is a pretty lame resort.
I would say it's only good if you want to teach skiing to your kids, as they have good instructors and skiing is cheap (20$) but the mountain is small and anybody else than a beginner will get bored. Also the snow quality is usually not so good.
