Bad Hofgastein is best suited to intermediate skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for beginners and advanced skiers. There are 90 kilometers (56 miles) of cross country ski trails at Bad Hofgastein. For snowboarders, there is a terrain park and a half pipe. Over half of the pistes at Bad Hofgastein are covered by snowmaking. The closest airport is at Salzburg but the transfer time is 1.5 hours.
